Admission requirements:
Individuals who hold a
Bachelor’s degree in any academic discipline from a recognised
university having CGPA not less than 2.5 will be considered for
admission into the Master of Science in Computer Science and
engineering program. Students who have weak undergraduate grades or
have not come from CS/CSI/EEE/Applied Physics background will be
required to take a number of prerequisite courses as decided by the
Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The applicant’s
undergraduate grade point average (GPA), GRE score and work experience
will be encouraged and may be required. Upon acceptance, students will
receive a copy of their planned academic program. Students are
encouraged to meet periodically with the program director to discuss
academic progress, career placement and special needs.
Degree Requirements:
A total of minimum 36 credit hours of
graduate course work with a minimum GPA of 2.5 are required to earn
the M.Sc. degree in CSE. Students may belong to either thesis or
non-thesis group. Thesis group students should take 18 credit hours
course work and 18 credit hours thesis. Non-thesis group students
should take 30 credit hours course work and 6 credit hours project. At
least 39 contact hours constitute a 3 credit hours course. In addition
to class work, students have to engage themselves intensively in course
based laboratory works.
