The purpose of education has been changing over time from seeking knowledge to gaining artifact and job-related skills. In the age of globalization, education in general and higher education in particular must develop academic programs that will educate students with knowledge and job related skills along with moral and ethical values. Such educational programs will have to be dynamic in both spatial and temporal dimensions. It requires clear mission and vision to formulate such time-space and job-fit academic programs. Implementation of such programs also requires clear and user-friendly strategies and policies. Above all, an enabling environment must be created and appropriate resources must be harnessed to conduct such academic programs.
United International University (UIU) promises to be unique in this regard in the landscape of higher education in Bangladesh. Its mission is to provide quality higher education; its motto is the quest for excellence; and its strategy is the united way. It has developed the state-of-the-art curricula, recruited some of the best faculties, and established an enabling academic environment equipped with modern technology and facilities. UIU believes in teamwork and unity among promoters, teachers, students and staff. To this end, we have been recruiting teachers who are proactive, accessible, caring and nurturing in nature.
UIU's academic programs emphasize a lot in developing some specific skills along with providing essential knowledge. Our first priority is to train our students to master the skills of critical thinking, analysis, and decision-making. Our second priority is to help students acquire excellent writing and verbal communication skill. We are confident that with these skills, our graduates will be able to succeed in the career they want to pursue and contribute positively in building our desired nation. I strongly believe that UIU has established an enabling environment conducive to impart world-class higher education in Bangladesh.
